Around 40 Cubs took part in the District’s 2022 Entertainer’s Badge Day.
In the morning, after being put into their ‘scene teams’, the Cubs took part in a series of bases designed to develop their skills. These included:
- Singing
- Mask making
- Mime
- Percussion
- Script reading
After a break and some well-earned lunch the Cubs started reading through their scripts for the afternoon’s performance, an adaptation of the Jungle Book (albeit with some non-standard characters!).
The Cubs performed to a packed audience of parents and family members, and there were enough cries of ‘it’s behind you’ and ‘boom-a-chicka-boom’ to assume that the performance was a resounding success.
All the Cubs were presented with their Entertainer’s badge, and it was fantastic to see the change in confidence from Cubs who’d arrived at the start of the day being nervous to speak, to seeing them getting up on the stage and belting out their lines!
We’re already looking forward to next year’s performance!
