On Weds 23rd March 22, Scouts from 1st Aldershot enjoyed a night of fund-raising with a bake sale at the group’s Annual General Meeting. The AGM is held annually where leaders, parents and friends of the group meet up to discuss what is happening in each of the sections (Beavers, Cubs and Scouts), review the accounts / executive committee positions and identify any potential requirements for the future.
Scouts from the group worked hard on baking cakes during the week to sell at the event. A planning session had taken place on Zoom earlier in the month and as well as earning the fund-raising activity badge, the Scouts who took part also gained the new ‘Youshape’ award. The fund-raising event was self-organised by the Scouts (and something they had come up with the idea to do themselves earlier in the year). Money earned from the night has gone towards the group for future activities and events.
